Pune Art Foundation and Venus Traders jointly organize the 10th edition of the Venus Art Festival from June 6- June 10, 2024, at Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre, Ghole Road, from 11 am to 7 pm on all the days. Entry to the festival is free and open to all.
The festival’s inauguration will take place on June 6, 2024 at 5.30 pm at the hands of Ajit Gadgil - Founder of Zapurza Museum of Art & Culture along with Dr Sudhakar Chavan - Noted Painter and Art Teacher.
While informing about the festival Surendra Karamchandani, the festival organizer said, “This year too there will be art exhibitions, painting competitions, and various workshops. Being associated with the art sector, we always encounter artists, especially the new generation. We started the Venus Art Festival 10 years ago to provide this rightful platform for everyone.”
The festival includes competitions for professional artists, amateur artists, art students, and school students. Also, On Saturday June 8, at 11 am a special workshop by the experts on the Importance of Elementary and Intermediate examinations will be conducted to create awareness among the parents and school students.
Along with this on Sunday June 9, at 11 am the attendees will get to attend a workshop by Advait Kolarkar, a child painter who has been honored with the ‘Global Child Prodigy’ award. Please note that these two workshops are free and open to all.
Advait has been drawing since the age of two and a half years old. Apart from this, his paintings have gained popularity globally. Advait has done 15 solo and 4 group shows so far.
Venus Art Festival received around 700 entries for the Painting competition from four groups namely professional artists, amateur artists, art students, and school students, out of which selected 200 paintings will be displayed in the exhibition. Accordingly, in each category, the top three winners will be given prizes in the form of cash prizes, said Surendra Karamchandani.
Another highlight of this year’s Venus Art Festival is the 50th anniversary of the Venus Traders. Pune art lovers will be able to witness a demonstration of calligraphy and calligraphy signatures in Marathi and English languages.”
