A Landmark Partnership Between Accor and InterGlobe to Redefine Hospitality

Taking a major step toward transforming India’s hospitality landscape, global hospitality leader Accorand India’s leading travel conglomerate InterGlobe have announced an enhanced partnership to create one of India’s fastest-growing hospitality enterprises. This new platform will offer a unique network, a diverse portfolio of brands, and serve all market segments. With a shared ambition to combine global leadership and local expertise, the platform will target a network of 300 hotels under Accor brands in India by 2030.

A Strategic Alliance Built on Strengths

This landmark partnership brings together the unique strengths of each stakeholder:

Accor, a leading global hospitality group, has built a strong presence in India with 71 hotels currently in operation and 40 more under development, spanning economy to luxury brands. Through this alliance, Accor aims to significantly expand its footprint and streamline operations, reaffirming its commitment to strong growth across economy, lifestyle, and luxury segments in the Indian market.

InterGlobe is a leading Indian conglomerate with deep expertise in travel and hospitality, including aviation (IndiGo), hotels (domestic and international), airline management, logistics, travel, and AI-enabled technology. InterGlobe is the largest stakeholder in IndiGo, India’s largest airline, operating 400 aircraft and connecting 130 cities with over 2,200 daily flights. In FY2025, IndiGo transported 118 million passengers and is among the world’s most valued airlines by market capitalization.

Unlocking India’s Hospitality Potential

With a ~7% GDP growth rate and a population of 1.4 billion, India is on track to become the 5th largest outbound travel market and the 3rd largest domestic travel market by 2027. A fast-emerging middle class, improved infrastructure, and enhanced air connectivity have spurred unprecedented growth in both domestic and international travel—especially in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, where Accor is a leading hotel operator.

India’s hotel industry is highly fragmented, presenting a massive opportunity for organized, branded companies. By strengthening its long-term strategic alliance with InterGlobe, Accor aims to unlock India’s full hospitality potential, transforming the industry and serving Indian travelers both domestically and globally.

A Bold Expansion Strategy

The strategic collaboration between Accor and InterGlobe is centered around several key initiatives:

Creating a Comprehensive Hospitality Hub

Accor and InterGlobe will combine their respective owned assets, development, and management businesses to form a unified, autonomous platform.

This new unit will be the exclusive vehicle to drive the expansion of all Accor brands in India, including Ennismore’s luxury and lifestyle brands, now part of Accor’s rapidly growing hospitality portfolio.

Accor will continue to lead operations and brand management while offering full access to its global brand and service portfolio.

Exclusive Partnership with Treebo

Treebo, one of India’s leading branded budget hotel platforms, operates 800 hotels across 120 cities using a tech-driven approach and robust distribution systems. Accor and InterGlobe will jointly invest and become the largest stakeholders in Treebo.

Through a master license agreement, Treebo will spearhead the development of ibis and Mercure brands in India.

As part of the partnership, Treebo has signed agreements with various property owners to launch ten new Mercure hotels, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s India expansion.

Accor brands will leverage Treebo’s cutting-edge technology to access India’s vast unbranded hotel market and accelerate growth. The combined Accor-Treebo portfolio will become India’s third-largest hospitality company, with over 30,000 rooms.

A Game-Changer for Indian Hospitality and Accor Brands in India

With a shared vision and ambition to redefine hospitality in India, the alliance between InterGlobe and Accor is poised to accelerate Accor’s presence in the country with a goal of 300 hotels under its brand by 2030. Combining Accor’s global hospitality expertise, InterGlobe’s deep market insight and entrepreneurial mindset, and Treebo’s innovative, tech-enabled hotel management model, this partnership is set to redefine the hospitality landscape in India.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, said, “This landmark partnership marks a transformational moment for Accor and our brands in India. By joining forces with our long-standing, successful, and trusted partner InterGlobe—and combining excellence in hospitality, technology, and entrepreneurship—we are unlocking exceptional growth opportunities in one of the world’s most exciting travel markets.”

Rahul Bhatia, Group Managing Director of InterGlobe Enterprises, added, “At InterGlobe, we have always believed in building meaningful and enduring relationships—with our partners and with the guests we serve. Today, we are thrilled to strengthen our two-decade-long relationship with Accor through this strategic partnership. With InterGlobe’s deep understanding of the Indian market, Accor’s world-class services, and the backdrop of India’s dynamic growth and evolving travel landscape, we aim to redefine the hospitality experience—offering exceptional value and setting new benchmarks of excellence in the industry.”
