‘Sur-Taal Vileparle (East)’, a well-known organization in Mumbai, has been dedicated to musical excellence and various social initiatives for many years. The platform provided by ‘Sur-Taal’ is always available for both established and emerging artists in the music industry. Last year, ‘Sur-Taal’ organized a melodious tribute called ‘Saanj Ye Gokuli’ to honor the legendary singer Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar and music composer Bappi Lahiri, which was well received by the residents of Girgaon. Following the overwhelming response to the event held on June 22, the organizers received numerous requests from the Girgaon community to host another evening dedicated to the songs composed by SD and RD Burman. In response, ‘Sur-Taal’ is organizing a special event, “The Musical World of Burman,” featuring timeless and popular songs composed by the Burman father-son duo.
Dr Jitendra Kher’s Mountain Ridge company is co-sponsoring this event. Renowned singers Amruta and Sandhya, along with vocalists Yashwant, Ruday, and Amar, will perform the popular songs of SD and RD Burman. Radio Jockey Padmaja Bapaye from All India Radio will provide engaging and lively commentary, sharing the musical journey of the Burmans.
