Aalisha Panwar says that it is very important to not reveal your real-time location people on social media followers. She adds that it is unsafe to give out all information on social media, as not everyone has the best intentions.
“In the past, I used to share my travel details and locations on social media platforms like Instagram. It felt like a natural way to connect with my fans and share exciting moments from my journeys. However, I’ve become more cautious about revealing my exact whereabouts in real-time especially after reading about few cases,” she says.
She adds, “While sharing location information can be useful for recommendations and connecting with others, it’s crucial to consider the potential dangers. Now, I believe in enjoying the moment and sharing the experience afterward, once I’ve moved on to the next destination. Stalkers do exist on social media.”
She says that sharing locations later helps you to enjoy the place more as well. “It allows me to enjoy the experience fully without worrying about my safety in real-time. By sharing details afterward, I can still engage with my audience and inspire others to explore similar places without compromising my security,” she says.
She adds, “I also advise sharing photos and experiences without revealing precise locations in real-time. This approach allows me to maintain a level of privacy and security while still sharing the beauty of my adventures with my followers.”
