Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ashok Pati and produced by Tripti Satapathy under the banners of Babushaan Films in association Amara Studios, PABAR features a star-studded cast including Babushaan Mohanty, Elina Samantaray, Krishna Kar, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Udit Guru, and more. The music, composed by Gaurav Anand, adds emotional depth and soul to this compelling political drama.
At the heart of PABAR is the journey of Benudhar Kandi (played by Babushaan Mohanty), a humble villager from Gumagarh with no grand ambitions — until a cunning father-son contractor duo convinces him to contest in the local elections. Initially swept up by the perks and prestige, Benudhar slowly begins to grasp the darker agendas of those who pushed him into power.
As the story unfolds, Benudhar finds himself navigating corruption, manipulation, and betrayal — not only from political rivals but also from within his own circle. Facing challenges from the former Sarpanch and a web of deceit, he must choose whether to serve his village with integrity or succumb to the system. The film is loosely inspired by real-life events and presents a thought-provoking look at rural politics, personal evolution, and the essence of true leadership.
