In a few days, the joyous celebration of Ganeshotsav will begin across Maharashtra. Whether it’s celebrities or common people, everyone takes a break to serve Lord Ganesha. Akshay Mhatre, who plays Akash in Punha Kartavya Ahe, expressed his excitement, saying, “Earlier, Lord Ganesha’s installation used to happen at our village in Alibaug, and we would visit there every year. But as my grandparents aged, traveling to the village and preparing for the festival became difficult. During the Covid period, we decided to install Ganpati at our home in Mumbai. Since then, we’ve been celebrating Ganeshotsav at our Nerul home. This is our fourth year, and it’s special because it’s my first Ganeshotsav after marriage. I’m very happy and excited, but my wife is even more enthusiastic. She’s been preparing, and we discuss daily about decorations, what offerings to make, and she’s even asked me to learn the Ganpati aarti (prayer). So, there’s a lot of excitement at home.”
He added, “My parents have already gone and booked the Ganpati idol. At our home, we bring Lord Ganesha in the form of Lalbaugcha Raja. Though the idol is small, it resembles the Lalbaugcha Raja. What I love most about Ganeshotsav is that all my friends come together. We keep Ganpati for one and a half days, and during that time, there’s no concept of sleep. All day, people come for darshan, and the house is bustling with activity. There’s always chitchat with guests, games being played, and songs being sung. I especially love eating modaks with ghee, they taste amazing! The atmosphere at home is pure fun and excitement.”
He shared, “We will also be celebrating Ganeshotsav on the set of ‘Punha Kartavya Ahe,’ and a lot is going to happen in the show during this time. There will be a festive atmosphere on the set as well, which will be a different kind of fun.”
So don’t forget to watch Punha Kartavya Ahe from Monday to Friday at 9.30pm, only on Zee Marathi.
