Akshaya Hindalkar, known for her stellar performances, is currently making headlines for her role in the serial Punha Kartavya Aahe. While discussing her character Vasundhara, she opened up about her acting journey, reminiscing about her humble beginnings and the struggles she faced along the way.
“My mother had a strong desire for me to explore the field of acting. I vividly remember she would look at advertisements in newspapers with child artist requirements. However, with school and studies everything hit pause. Eventually, I joined a theater group, where my mentor Milind Pednekar guided me for six years. After participating in numerous plays, I landed my first role in a television series. Although my struggle was short, every moment of this journey has been fulfilling,” Akshaya shared.
Talking about her current project Punya Kartavya Aahe, where she plays the lead role, Akshaya expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am extremely happy to be a part of this project. It feels like destiny has brought me here. Initially, I was hesitant about playing Vasundhara’s character as she is much older than my real age, but the role has grown on me over time. Working on this show has been a dream come true.”
The response to the show has been overwhelming, and Akshaya feels blessed to be a part of it. “I had always wished to work on Zee Marathi television, and finally, it happened with Punha Kartavya Aahe The first promo of the show received an incredible response, and I felt recognized by the audience. One incident stands out to me: I was traveling on a Mumbai local train, trying to avoid the rush-hour traffic, when I removed my mask to eat something. A group of ladies recognized me. It was a surreal moment for me, realizing that people recognized me from the show’s promotion. Such moments fuel my passion for acting,” she revealed.
