Singer Alok Singh, who is enjoying the success of his latest song, Rang Ishq Da, says music is his soul. Speaking on the occasion of World Music Day, which is observed on June 21, he said, “Music inspires me everyday. Music is my soul, and it’s the heart of life.”
He agrees that music impacts one’s mood and said, “Every morning when my Tanpura is playing, no matter what I’m doing, its music sets my mood and makes my day.”
Though he doesn’t have a favorite genre of music, he says he enjoys the ones he can connect with. What about your favorite singer and song? “I think singing a song and truly delivering a song are two different things. I believe that Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar were two singers who believed in truly delivering a song, so they are my favorite singers. And if we are talking about the new generation, then I would say to myself,” he said. “Rang Ishq Da is my favorite song because this song is the anthem for the rainy season."
