Actor Amal Sehrawat, who recently attended Times India Fashion Week, says the experience opened his imagination to fresh fashion ideas and creative styling perspectives. Known for projects like Sarkar 3, Satya 2, Chotti Sarrdaarni and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the actor believes fashion is all about comfort and individuality.
“The Times India Fashion Week was truly spectacular, especially because it gave equal platform and visibility to both established as well as aspiring designers,” Amal shared.
He further added, “Shows like these definitely open up my imagination to new combinations of styles, silhouettes, fabrics, and trends. They inspire creativity and help you see fashion from fresh perspectives.”
Speaking about his personal approach towards style, Amal said, “For me, fashion is anything and everything that makes you feel comfortable. The ease and confidence that come from being truly comfortable create an effortless style of their own. That’s what gives fashion its individuality and uniqueness.”
The actor revealed that his interest in fashion and styling began during his teenage years. “The moment I entered my teens, I started observing and understanding what suited my personality the best. Gradually, this keenness towards fashion and styling became my second nature. Now, I subconsciously notice things that catch my attention and often incorporate them into my personal style,” he said.
Being someone who enjoys experimenting with looks, Amal admitted that fashion also gives him creative satisfaction. “Curating new looks not only helps me look good and feel confident, but also gives me immense creative satisfaction,” he added.
Talking about his everyday wardrobe choices, Amal said comfort remains his biggest priority. “Loose clothing is my all-season favourite. During summers, I mostly live in loose cotton shirts paired with relaxed pants, sometimes as co-ords and sometimes in contrasting styles. Similarly, in winters, I prefer oversized outfits with layers that are both comfortable and stylish.”
The actor also shared that while he owns several designer outfits, he does not believe in wearing labels merely for the sake of it. “I own quite a lot of designer outfits, and the best part is that most of it has been gifted by my designer friends. Having said that, I don’t really believe in wearing labels for the sake of it. I’m always on the lookout for unique outfits that truly match my personality, irrespective of whether they come from veteran designers or aspiring new talents,” he explained.
When asked whether he follows trends, Amal said he prefers balancing trends with authenticity. “I wouldn’t say I blindly follow trends. I like staying true to my personal style, but at the same time, I’m not rigid with my choices either. I believe in evolving with time and incorporating trends in a way that still feels authentic to my personality,” he said.
Amal also fondly recalled his first-ever ramp walk during Grasim Mr. India, where he finished among the top finalists and won the Best Physique Runner-Up title.
“The entire experience felt absolutely surreal. I still remember having butterflies in my stomach because the venue was completely houseful, and to top it all, the front row had Priyanka Chopra as one of the judges. It was a huge moment for me and definitely one of the most memorable experiences of my journey,” he added.
