Amish Tripathi Highlights India’s Gaming Talent as French Delegates Visit Tara Gaming’s Pune Studio

Amish Tripathi, the Co-founder of Tara Gaming, hosted Patrick Leverino, Consul General of France in Mumbai, and Mathieu Bejot, Audiovisual Attaché at the French Institute in India, for an exclusive tour of the company’s Pune studio and a behind-the-scenes look at ‘The Age of Bhaarat’, India’s first global AAA game. Accompanied by his team, led by Studio Head Siddharth Singh, Tripathi took the French delegates through the game’s development process, showcasing the creative and technical work that goes into bringing an expansive, mythology-inspired world to life.

The visit also comes at a significant point in Tara Gaming’s journey as it continues to expand its development capabilities in India under the leadership of co-founders Amitabh Bachchan, Amish Tripathi, and Nouredine Abboud, along with Mukul Deora, who serves as a Board Director and Transmedia Producer. Of the company’s 205-strong global team, 85 employees are based in Pune, a studio that has grown to this size in just 18 months. For Tara Gaming, this growth represents an opportunity to do more than build a skilled local workforce. It is about giving Indian artists, writers, designers, and developers the opportunity to understand and contribute to the entire game-making process, from the earliest creative decisions to the technical execution of a finished experience.

Speaking about the visit, Amish Tripathi, Co-Founder, Tara Gaming, shared, “It was a pleasure to host Patrick Leverino and Mathieu Bejot at our Pune studio and take them through the world we are building with ‘The Age of Bhaarat’. One of the things we wanted to share was the sheer breadth of work that goes into creating a game of this scale. India has always had an extraordinary storytelling tradition, and we have no shortage of creative talent. The opportunity now is to give that talent the experience and the confidence to build world-class games from India, with an understanding of the entire process. Our Pune team has grown from strength to strength in these 18 months, and it is encouraging to see so much talent come together around a shared creative ambition.”

Siddharth Singh, Studio Head, Tara Gaming, added, “Welcoming Mathieu Bejot and Patrick Leverino at our Pune studio gave us the opportunity to walk them through what building a game like ‘The Age of Bhaarat’ actually involves. There is a great deal of collaboration behind every environment, character, gameplay mechanic, and cinematic sequence that eventually comes together on screen. We want our people to understand how these pieces connect and how decisions made at one stage affect the experience as a whole. That understanding is important when you are building a AAA game at this scale, and it is something our team develops by working across the process and learning from one another. The growth of our Pune studio has been particularly gratifying to see, and we are proud of the talent here that is helping turn this ambitious vision into a playable world.”

Set in a reimagined world inspired by India’s epics, ‘The Age of Bhaarat’ is a dark-fantasy action-adventure that combines rich setting, co-op gameplay systems, and world-class AAA production values to bring Indian storytelling to the global gaming stage. Currently at the Alpha stage, the highly anticipated game is moving towards its next phase of development, with the team focused on refining its scope, rhythm, and overall playable experience.
