Renowned for her exceptional acting skills, actress Amruta Khanvilkar has always captivated audiences. Over the past year, she has entertained her fans through numerous projects and is set to appear in diverse roles on the big screen in the coming months. Amruta is known for always being in the limelight.
Recently, she purchased a beautiful and spacious home in Mumbai, which she has also named with a special meaning. In an exclusive conversation with Bombay Times, Amruta shared her Gudi Padwa plans and expressed how special this first festival in her new home is for her.
Amruta says, “Gudi Padwa has always been a festival very close to my heart. After Diwali, it is the one festival that is the most special to me. Over the years, its significance has only grown, as my childhood memories associated with it are incredibly beautiful. When Aditi and I were kids living in Pune, our father would wake up early every year and perform all the Gudi Padwa rituals meticulously. He paid attention to every detail. After the pooja, he would sit us down and explain the significance of the Gudi. He used to say that the Gudi represents our dreams, desires, and the manifestation of positive energy. More importantly, it marks the beginning of the Marathi New Year—a fresh start. One thing he told me has stayed with me forever—“The Gudi should touch the sky." These words touched me deeply and became a guiding principle in my life. It means that our dreams, ambitions, and the manifestation of our positive energy—along with our hard work, dedication, and efforts in both personal and professional life—should always aim high. Just as the Gudi is raised high, symbolizing victory and new beginnings, our goals and aspirations should also soar high and reach the skies.”

She adds, “This year’s Gudi Padwa feels like a dream come true for me. I am celebrating it in my own home—the one I have bought for myself. After years of working in the industry, struggling, doing films, and handling various projects, today, I can confidently say that Ekam is my true home. This home hasn’t just given me a space to live; it has helped me discover myself. Here, I have found real peace and stability. Life has had its ups and downs, but this house has embraced me with a special kind of magic. As it took shape, it gave me new hope, confidence, and fresh energy.”
With Amruta fulfilling her dreams, Ekam holds a very special place in her heart, making this Gudi Padwa truly significant for her. In the coming months, she will be seen in multiple Hindi and Marathi projects, including an exciting item song in the upcoming film Sushila-Sujit.
