Anoushka Chauhan, who is currently seen in Krishna Mohini on Colors, says she starts her day listening to bhajans to maintain her sanity. In fact, before going in front of the camera, she listens to music that is required in the scene to set the mood right.
Speaking on the occasion of World Music Day, which is observed on June 21, she said, “Music is a form of art that can channel your mood and hits the soul instantly. I start my day by listening to bhajan and spiritual music to keep my sanity intact. As an artist, before any scene, I listen to a certain kind of music to set my mood as required in the scene. Even in life, whether it is a gym or any special occasion, the right kind of music always does the job of preparing me and keeping me going.”
She agrees that music impacts one’s mood and added, “One thing that I always vouch for is that when you are sad, you should never listen to sad music. When I am sad, I always listen to highly energetic songs on which I can dance my ass off to uplift my mood and not sink in my sadness.”
As a spiritual person, she believes there is cosmic energy in many kinds of music that hits the right parts of one’s brain and body. “Whether you are struggling to sleep or feeling anxious,. A certain kind of music can calm you down and cheer you up,” she said.
Though she can’t pick one favorite music genre, she calls Maithili Thakur her all-time favorite singer. “Her voice is so melodious, it just covers you with a blanket of spirituality. I love Punjabi music too. Although I don’t understand the exact lyrics, it always cheers me up. Diljit Dosanjh is love. Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan are also my favorites. Anirudh Ravichander is my favorite on self-care day. I am a hard-core fan of Zubin Nautiyal, as he is from my community, so I have this biased fan feeling.”
Favourite song? “Chal Utth Bandeya by Dr. Zeus and Sukhwinder Singh, Aarambh Hai Prachand by Piyush Mishra, and Bhala by Vinay Katoch are my all-time favorite songs to inspire me. Bachaa from Jatt & Juliet, Suniyan Suniyan by Juss, and Agg Banke by Harsh Likhari, NDS, and Talwiinder are on my loop these days.”
