Anubha Arora is currently seen as an antagonist in Power Of Paanch. Talking about her journey with the show, she shares, “When I auditioned, I didn’t know it was under Balaji Telefilms. But I instantly felt that I could ace this role. As I learned more about the character and the story, it became a no-brainer—I had to do it!”
Before Power Of Paanch, Anubha played very different roles in Nishedh and Yudhra. Speaking about her character Adeeba, she explains, “She has a very distinct look, always in ribbons and unique hairstyles. I would brainstorm with the creative team to make sure her appearance stood out in every scene. She talks in a quirky way and seems harmless at first. But as the show progresses, you realize she struggles with low self-esteem. To protect her confidence and image, she will do anything. That also explains why she carries herself the way she does on campus.”
With 50 episodes, Power Of Paanch is a long-format web series. Anubha admits this was new for her. “I had never worked on such a long project before. It required a huge commitment, but it also gave me a chance to really explore the character and make a place in the audience’s heart. From the start, I received so much appreciation from my co-actors, creators, and now the audience. Some people hate my character, which means I made it believable! I’m also getting so many messages from fans praising my work. It’s overwhelming and motivating.”
The show was filmed mostly in Mumbai, with a short schedule in Surat. Anubha shares that the cast became like a family. “We had such a great time! Whether it was the younger actors or the ones playing the parents, we bonded so well. We would break into dance on set, play pranks, travel together, have lunch together, and even cry together. I’ve made some amazing memories that I will cherish forever.”
Talking about the rise of OTT platforms, she says, “They have created so many opportunities for actors, producers, and directors. Power Of Paanch is one of the first web shows with so many episodes, and it’s keeping audiences hooked. It’s been four weeks, and we’re still trending! I think more web series should explore this format because it gives a deeper experience to both creators and viewers.”
As for her future in acting, Anubha has one clear goal. “I want to try every kind of role. Many actors hesitate to play grey characters, but I find them exciting because they have so many layers. At the same time, I’d love to play a protagonist in a dreamy, romantic story like I did in Nishedh. For me, it’s all about exploring and growing as an actor.
