Actor Arjan Bajwa, who has been a part of superhit movies like Fashion, Rustom, and Kabir Singh, says his father was his inspiration, and he inculcated the never-give-up attitude in him. Speaking on the occasion of Father’s Day, which will be observed on June 15, he said, “Father’s Day holds utmost significance because he is the man who brings you into this world. For every child, a father is a superhero—and so was mine for me.” While he mentioned that every moment that he spent with his father is dear to him, he shared two instances that he cannot forget. He said, “When I was eight months old, he saved my life because I was involved in an accident that cut my forehead. To the time growing up and watching him work hard against all odds was inspiring not only for me but for the whole society. When my father became the mayor of Delhi, it was a most special moment for me because I was happy that his struggles and hard work all through his life were finally reaping results.” Arjan’s father instilled in him a deep sense of integrity and purpose in his life, the values that continue to guide him, not just as an actor, but as a human being too.

“My biggest inspiration and learning from my father is to never give up and live your life with your head held high, never bow down to anyone, and never get defeated by any difficult situations that are brought in front of you. He was the bravest, strongest, and the kindest, most kind-hearted man that I knew. And that’s what I follow to this day—live a life that inspires other people and help the needy in whichever situation they are in. That’s what I try to do—live a fearless life but be helpful to others,” he said. Even though his father passed away at a young age while still serving as mayor, his legacy is very much alive in his heart. He said, “I definitely want to honor his legacy with the kind of life he led, which was literally like a film story, as he was a very self-made man who took care of his family from the age of 21. My grandfather was assassinated in a very tragic way, and my father held the reins of our family and carried forward the legacy. Since my father also passed away very young, at just 56, while he was a sitting mayor of Delhi, I do have these strong thoughts of serving the people the way he did. So definitely, politics will be on the cards at some point to fulfill his promises to the people and take his legacy higher.” When asked what his father would be most proud of today, Arjan said, “Since my father was a self-made man, he would have been proud of me that I did everything on my own. I held my own in the way that he expected me to and made my life on my own terms, not following the run-of-the-mill way of just living a simple, protected, comfortable life. I’ve been through my share of struggles and hardships, and that’s what he would have been proud of—that against all odds, you rise like a phoenix and become successful in life.”
