The club’s all-time record appearance maker has extended his deal with Atleti for another season, striking an agreement with the club that his deal will be reassessed at the end of every season.
The Madrid-born legend made his first appearance for Los Rojiblancos back in September 2009 and has gone on to play 626 matches to date, the vast majority under current coach Diego Simeone.
