Actor Rajat Verma who is currently playing Jay in Do Dooni 4 Film’s show Dahej Daasi speaks about the importance of good friends in his life. He says, “Friendship is very important to me, and I do everything I can to maintain and preserve it. Friendships act as an escape from the challenges of life and provide a sense of support and comfort. Since we are away from our families, our friends become our family here. We take care of each other, share happy and tough moments, and rely on each other for support. Having friends gives us a backup system and a sense of safety. In both on-screen and off-screen , good friendships make a big difference. When there is a strong bond between actors, it helps in performing scenes better. You can depend on friends for support, suggestions, and comfort, especially when working under professional pressure. Being comfortable with your friends can make performing scenes much easier and more enjoyable.” Talking about his best friend Rajat says, “My best friend is Neha Rana. We became friends while working on the show Ishq Par Zor Nahi. Since then, she has become family to me. Now, I share everything with her, no matter what it is.“ Rajat also adds, “The qualities I value most in my best friend are that she listens to me and gives me advice and suggestions. She is very honest about whether I am doing things right or wrong. If I make a mistake, she tells me directly, which is something I really appreciate.I’ve learned a lot from her about loving and prioritizing yourself. She taught me to take care of myself first and foremost, even when other things are happening.Being a girl and my best friend, Neha has also taught me how to treat women with respect. Before meeting her, most of my friends were guys, and I didn’t have many female friends. Through her, I’ve learned how to be even more respectful towards women.”
But isn’t it tough to maintain friendships in this busy world when everyone is busy. Rajat says, “Maintaining friendships doesn’t require much—sometimes just a call, sharing something personal, or being there for someone when they need. Staying connected and being present for each other is all it takes.I believe this is why all my friendships, both old and new, are maintained. We understand and respect each other’s work and busy schedules. There’s no ego involved if someone doesn’t have time; we respect that they might be busy and not available at the moment.“ On being asked about Rajat’s good friends on the sets of Dahej Daasi he says, “Sayantani (Ghosh) Ma’am is my good friend, and Hina too. Sayantani Ma’am and I have a great bond, and I feel very comfortable performing scenes with her. Being a brilliant and experienced actor, she helped me overcome my initial nervousness. Our off-screen friendship shows on screen too, making our scenes more natural. We respect each other’s input and suggestions. This is why having friendships on set is very important—it positively affects my work.”
