Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol Legends Return brings back some of the show’s memorable voices, allowing artists to revisit the stage that played a significant role in their musical journeys. For Season 6 contestant Devender Pal Singh, returning to the Indian Idol stage years later is an experience filled with nostalgia, excitement and a sense of coming full circle.
Reflecting on his return, Devender says, “Indian Idol has been a very important chapter of my life. It gave me a platform, an identity, and some of the most unforgettable experiences of my musical journey. So when I got the opportunity to be a part of Indian Idol: Legends Return, my first reaction was honestly a mix of excitement and nostalgia. It felt like coming back to a place that played such a big role in shaping me as an artist, but this time with many more years of experience, learning and music behind me. I’m not looking at it as simply returning to the show; it feels more like reconnecting with a beautiful chapter of my life and celebrating the journey that came after Indian Idol as well.”
Talking about performing with Mayuri, he adds, “Mayuri is a wonderful singer and a classically trained artist. We both come from a strong classical music background, and I think that gives our musical partnership a very strong foundation. At the same time, we are both very versatile as singers, so we can explore different genres, emotions and styles quite comfortably. I feel that combination of our classical training and versatility allows us to understand each other musically very well. We’re bringing our individual strengths together and creating a musical chemistry that feels natural. I’m really excited about what we’ve been able to create together, and I hope the audience enjoys our partnership as much as we’ve enjoyed working on it.”
