Deviashtarang – An Evening to Honor Women

With Women’s Day around the corner, Prerana Music Organization in association with Hari Shankar Nagarkar Jewellers is bringing to us ‘Deviashtarang’ – a programme to honor women and women power. The programme will see a musical program filled with Bandishes and Raagas based on women power, felicitation of women in different fields, and a talk regarding women in Indian Classical Music.

The programme is all set to take place on Thursday, March 7 at the Balshikshan Mandir Auditorium, Mayur Colony from 5 pm onwards, and will be free and open to all on a first-come first-served basis.

The programme will see vocal renditions of students of Prerna Music Organization, along with soulful performances of Dr Mrutyunjay Angadi, a vocalist of the Jaipur Gharana (Dharwad), Vidushi Saniya Patankar of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana and a solo recital of Tejas Upadhye on Violin. They will be accompanied by Susamoy Mishra (Delhi), Madhav Limaye, Sachin Pavgi, Tarashish Bakshi, and Anurag Joshi.

Seema Limaye, Dr Priti Joshi, and Mitali Limaye will be felicitated on the occasion for the excellence of work in their respective fields. Additionally, a special talk based on ‘Women in Classical Music’ by professor Ashok Shinde, Phaltan will also be a part of this programme. Shobha Kulkarni will compere the programme.
