Seems like Punjabi is the flavour of the season in Bollywood. The intensity, the sense of humour and the desi touch of Punjab is connecting with the audience, and this year itself promises a never-experienced-before Punjabi tadka in Bollywood, courtesy our desi mundes:
Diljit Dosanjh: The versatility of Diljit Dosanjh is ruling over Bollywood. From his impeccable comic timing in Good Newwz to the heart wrenching performance in Amar Singh Chamkila, there isn’t anything this man can’t do. The rooted nature of his portrayals is what connects him so well with the audience.
Vicky Kaushal: Whenever Vicky Kaushal has taken over a Punjabi character, his roots have shone on screen. Now, he is doing that again in Bad Newz and if the trailer is anything to go by, the actor is set to take his audience on a crazy ride filled with laughs, all with his swag and desi-ness.
Sunny Singh: Who doesn’t still remember Sunny Singh’s iconic “Chal Jhuthi” from Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2? Now, he is set to return to his Punjabi roots on screen with Wild Wild Punjab and the actor has already created a lot of waves with his impeccable timing in the film’s trailer.
Ayushmann Khurrana: A bonafide Bollywood star and a Punjabi by heart, Ayushmann’s rooted portrayals have always connected with the audience. But the way he got to bring out his innate Punjabi-ness in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, it just made the audience want to see him more in Punjabi roles.
