In the serial Lakhat Ek Amcha Dada, Disha Pardeshi plays the role of Tulja. In a recent conversation, she shared insights about her role and personal life: “Tulja is a beautiful, diligent doctor, honest by nature, and extremely intelligent in her studies. She encourages other girls to study, believing that only through education can a girl progress and establish her own identity in this world. She is humble, respectful, and understanding, but can be assertive when necessary. Tulja belongs to a wealthy family and has her father, elder brother, and younger brother, with the unique aspect of having two mothers. Her father and elder brother are very strict. Since she was good in her studies from childhood, the family decided to make her a doctor and sent her to Pune for MBBS preparation.
She adds, “I’d like to share how I got this role. Last year, I was in Scotland for the shooting of my Marathi film Musafira. After the promotion of the film and its release, I received a call asking if I was Disha Pardeshi who starred in Musafira. That call was from Vajra Productions. They informed me about their new serial to be aired on Zee Marathi and expressed their interest in me for the lead role. Listening to the role and the storyline felt very different, and thus began my journey as Tulja. I am happy to be working with such a major channel as Zee Marathi, which will bring me into many homes. Nitish and I share a great friendship, and our on-screen relationship will be fun to watch. He is an excellent actor, and our scenes are shot with great camaraderie due to our off-screen friendship.”
Disha shares, “I don’t have a brother in real life as I am an only child, but I have cousins with whom I share a loving relationship. I’d like to mention that Shatru, who plays my elder brother in Lakhat Ek Amcha Dada, has a wonderful off-screen relationship with me, caring for me like a real younger sister. The same day the promo was released, I found out that I had been declared the ‘2024 Face of the Year’ by a reputed newspaper. This is my first acting award, making Lakhat Ek Amcha Dada very lucky for me. Overall, this year has been very fortunate for me. I have been in the acting field for three and a half years, previously being a classical dancer and modeling for ten years before gradually moving into acting. I hope you continue to bless Lakhat Ek Amcha Dada and Tulja.”
Don’t forget to watch Lakhat Ek Amcha Dada every night at 8.30pm, only on Zee Marathi!
