Anil Kapoor is on a winning spree! After wreaking havoc at the box office with two simultaneous blockbusters - ‘Animal’ and ‘Fighter’, winning Dadasaheb Phalke award and featuring in the TIME100AI list, Anil Kapoor has made India proud yet again! This time, the actor’s much celebrated series ‘The Night Manager’ has got a global recognition. The Anil Kapoor-starrer, which is the Indian adaptation of a series by the same name, has scored a nomination under the Best Drama Series category at the International Emmy Awards 2024.
The show, which also features Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala, was the only entry from India across 14 categories at the nominations that were announced on Thursday. Talking about the nomination, Kapoor said, “It’s just been brought to my attention that our Indian adaption of ‘The Night Manager’ has been nominated for the International Emmy Awards. I remember when the offer came in, I was conflicted. It offered me the opportunity to play a character so complex, but also on the other hand, the huge responsibility of trying to add a newness and an authenticity to a part that had been played so masterfully by Hugh Laurie.”
The megastar continued, “This validation from the Emmys, in addition to the tremendous love that we have received from fans worldwide, is a worthy reminder that hard work always pays off. I am ecstatic and hungrier than ever to deliver the best of myself.”
The Emmys nod to ‘The Night Manager’ is yet another celebration of Kapoor’s versatility and global appeal. Currently, the cinema icon is gearing up to shoot for his next project with Suresh Triveni, which is titled ‘Subedaar’.
