A new comic strip series, Future Shock – Abeer & Amaara, is offering a fresh and relatable take on artificial intelligence through humor and everyday situations. Created by 17-year-old twins Abeer Verma and Amaara Verma from New Delhi, the daily 3-panel comic explores how AI is influencing modern life, relationships, education, creativity, and technology dependence.
The comic follows two recurring characters — the tech-enthusiastic Abeer and the practical, sharp-witted Amaara — whose contrasting personalities create humorous yet thought-provoking situations around AI and digital culture.
Both creators are Grade 11 students at Step by Step School and have actively participated in youth-focused AI and coding initiatives. Their comic strip addresses contemporary topics such as AI-generated homework, privacy concerns, automation, screen addiction, and the growing dependence on technology.
Designed with minimal dialogue and strong visual punchlines, Future Shock – Abeer & Amaara is optimized for both print and digital audiences. With 35 completed strips already developed, the project aims to become a socially relevant and entertaining editorial feature for readers across generations.

Some of the contemporary issues already explored in the comic include:
- AI-written homework students cannot explain later
- Personalized advertising and data privacy
- AI-generated apologies lacking emotional authenticity
- Automation replacing even its own creators
- Mental health support versus genuine human presence
- The growing blur between convenience and dependency
The format remains intentionally concise and newspaper-friendly:
- 3 panels
- Minimal dialogue
- Strong visual punchline
- Optimized for both print and digital platforms
