Actor Gaurav Sharma was instantly drawn to his role in Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey’s Badall Pe Paon Hai. For him, it was the perfect opportunity he’d been waiting for, and the decision to join the project was made without hesitation.
Speaking about his role as Mahir Dhillon, Gaurav says, “After playing two grey characters, I was looking for something different, something positive. When I found out that Mahir is a lover boy, a positive character, and one of the central figures in the show, I didn’t need to think twice. I said yes right away.”
He adds, “I’m always eager to take on diverse roles, and the way Mahir’s character is set to evolve made me even more excited. There’s so much potential, and I can’t wait for the audience to see that.” Television, he believes, has seen tremendous growth in recent years. “I think the writing has really evolved,” he says. “It’s more grounded and realistic now, with characters that feel closer to real life. Of course, since it’s a drama, there’s still a bit of exaggeration, but as long as the audience enjoys it, that’s what matters.”
Talking about his experience shooting for Badall Pe Paon Hai, Gaurav shares, “The atmosphere on set is incredibly positive. Most of my scenes are with Baani and Daadi, and the energy is always great. While I can’t stay away from Mumbai for too long, filming in Punjab has its own charm. The food is incredible, the people are warm and welcoming, and with the changing weather, I’m really looking forward to the winter season.”
As for what makes the show stand out, Gaurav explains that it’s far from the typical kitchen drama. “Badall Pe Paon Hai brings in elements like the stock market, courtroom drama, and more, which you don’t often see on television. Working with Ravie and Sargun has been amazing. Though it’s my first time working with them, it already feels like home. They are both brilliant artists and even better human beings. Their support for each other is truly inspiring, and the way they are growing together shows that the sky’s the limit for them.”
