Geetanjali Mishra, who is well-known for playing intense negative roles in shows like Crime Patrol and Savdhaan India, has successfully made the switch to comedy with her role as Rajjo in Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli’s show Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. In a recent interview, she talked about her experience moving from serious characters to comic ones.
When asked about how playing Rajjo has affected her, Geetanjali admitted that this was a very different opportunity for her. She said, “I have been in the industry for about 12-15 years now, and I’ve played various characters, but this is my first chance to do comedy."
Geetanjali also pointed out that making people laugh isn’t as easy as it looks. “Comedy may seem easy, but it’s not. Comedy is very serious work, and to do it well, you have to push yourself a lot and work hard internally,” she explained. She added that it takes a lot of effort and preparation to control emotions while delivering a comedic performance.
One thing that has helped Geetanjali settle into her comedic role is the support of her co-stars on the set of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. Although she took over the role of Rajjo from Kamna Pathak, who set a high standard, Geetanjali was able to bring her own style to the character. This has made her portrayal stand out, even though she felt some pressure stepping into the role. She shared how she added her own variation to make the character unique.
Before gaining recognition as Rajjo, Geetanjali was known for her strong roles in crime dramas. In the interview, she also touched on the ongoing challenges women face in society, expressing her frustration that things haven’t changed much.
