The opening evening of acclaimed artist Sanjay Bhattacharya’s highly anticipated show drew a diverse crowd of visitors, comprising both established artists and avid art enthusiasts from various corners. Among the notable attendees was the renowned artist Samir Mondal, making a rare appearance to show his support for his friend Sanjay Bhattacharya. The event also saw the presence of artists like Nayanaa Kanodia, Sangeeta Babani, Viveek Sharma, Satyendra Rane, Sanjukta Barik, and Gautam Mukherjee.
Art aficionados such as Rajendra Patil - President of Bombay Art Society, Pinky Singh, Nagesh Alai, Shrikanta Damani, Dr Minali Goel, Gaurav Pokhriyal, Supriya Pokhriyal, Gayatri Chopra, Kamal Kabra, Ajaya Jain, Rita Jain, and others graced the occasion with their presence. Curator Tripat Kalra of Gallerie Nvyā graciously hosted the soirée, ensuring a delightful experience for all attendees who were seen indulging in lively conversations over mocktails and delectable snacks.
The exhibition, titled Moving Geometry, represents a departure for the veteran artist Sanjay Bhattacharya as he ventures into the realm of geometric abstractions, a key shift from his renowned realistic works. This collection, brought to Mumbai for the first time by Gallerie Nvyā, will be on display at the Jehangir Art Gallery auditorium until March 11, 2024.
