Gyanesh Upadhyay, who plays Vishnu in Shiv Shakti: Ek Divya Pranay Katha, believes the character’s strength lies in his wisdom, compassion and ability to maintain balance during moments of crisis. The actor says the production combines mythology, emotional storytelling and elaborate stagecraft to bring the divine journey of Shiv and Shakti to life.
“Shiv Shakti: Ek Divya Pranay Katha takes audiences on an emotional journey through divine love, unwavering devotion, sacrifice, destruction, and the ultimate triumph of cosmic balance,” he said.
For Gyanesh, portraying Vishnu requires more than understanding his divine powers. It means capturing the calmness and judgement of a figure responsible for preserving cosmic order. “To portray this character convincingly, the key is to understand not only his divine powers, but also his extraordinary calmness, wisdom, compassion, and ability to act at precisely the right moment,” he said.
His research has helped him approach Vishnu as a compassionate protector who must sometimes make difficult decisions for the greater good. He believes the character’s authority does not depend on dramatic gestures or a loud voice. “Vishnu need not dominate every scene through volume or dramatic movement. His authority can come from a steady gaze, a measured voice, an upright posture, and complete conviction,” he said.
He sums up his understanding of the role by saying, “Vishnu’s greatness is not only in his divine weapons or majestic appearance, it lies in the responsibility he carries.”
Music is another important part of the production, helping convey the emotions and spiritual depth of the story. “The music does not merely accompany the story, it gives voice to the divine, transforms emotions into an experience, and allows the audience to feel the eternal rhythm of Shiv and Shakti within themselves,” he said.
