The inspiring trailer of the upcoming Marathi film Krantijyoti Vidyalaya – Marathi Medium, directed by Hemant Dhome, has received an overwhelming response from audiences. Highlighting the struggle to protect Marathi schools, the mother tongue, and its very existence, the trailer struck a deep emotional chord with viewers. Building on the intense emotion created by the trailer, the film now presents ‘Haakamari’, a hard-hitting song that further intensifies the spirit of resistance and struggle.
The song was launched in a unique manner at midnight at Deccan Chowk in Pune. On this occasion, a group of women delivered a powerful dance performance to the song. With red tilaks on their foreheads and open hair, their fierce and striking look captured everyone’s attention.
Symbolizing the fight to save Marathi schools, uphold the identity of the mother tongue, and stand against injustice, ‘Haakamari’ is a song that calls for resistance and transformation. Every beat and every word of the song ignites the energy to fight for one’s mother language. The song features powerful music by Harsh–Vijay, and the strong, resolute voice of Anuja Devare, a well-known singer from Maharashtra’s popular show The Folk Aakhyan. The sharp and impactful lyrics are penned by Ishwar Andhare.
Director Hemant Dhome says,“Krantijyoti Vidyalaya – Marathi Medium tells the story of the struggle to protect Marathi schools and the existence of our mother tongue in a very engaging way. Through the trailer, we offered a glimpse of this conflict, and through the song ‘Haakamari’, we have given that struggle a direct voice. Today, many Marathi schools are fighting for survival, and this reality deeply disturbs us. ‘Haakamari’ is a song that forces introspection. This fight is no longer limited to the film—it has now become a collective fight for all of us.”
The film stars veteran actor Sachin Khedekar in the role of a headmaster, alongside a strong ensemble cast including Amey Wagh, Siddharth Chandekar, Kshitee Jog, Kadambari Kadam, Harish Dudhade, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Nirmiti Sawant, and social media star Prajakta Koli, who makes her debut in Marathi cinema.
Produced under the banner of Chalchitra Mandali, the film is written and directed by Hemant Dhome, with Kshitee Jog as producer. The co-producers are Viraj Gavas, Urfi Kazmi (Crazy Few Films), and Ajinkya Dhamal.
