How Krish Khatri Crafted Gaurav Khanna’s Bigg Boss 19 Look

Gaurav Khanna grabbed attention in the Bigg Boss 19 house not only for his calm, balanced gameplay but also for his refined and effortlessly elegant sense of style. The man behind his polished wardrobe was stylist and costume designer Krish Khatri, who says Gaurav’s biggest strength lies in his simplicity—something he consciously reflected in every look.

Sharing insights into their collaboration, Krish said, “Gaurav and I have been friends for nearly two decades, so styling him was a very organic and collaborative process. From the start, the idea was to understand his personality beyond the screen—his quiet confidence, maturity, and understated strength. Bigg Boss is a platform where authenticity is as important as appearance, so we focused on creating looks that felt powerful yet effortless, never forced.”

He added, “Our association is built on trust and clear communication. Gaurav is extremely open to ideas and truly understands that styling is an extension of who he is.”

From structured jackets to layered ensembles, Krish revealed that their aim was to strike a balance between comfort and sharp aesthetics while keeping in mind the game’s dynamics and the show’s evolving narrative. “Clean, well-structured silhouettes with a minimal, masculine edge suit Gaurav the most. He carries classic tones like black, charcoal, ivory, earthy browns, and deep blues exceptionally well,” he shared.

“Tailored jackets, crisp shirts, subtle textures, and layered looks enhance his strong frame and calm demeanor. He doesn’t need loud fashion. His style works best when it’s refined, timeless, and quietly impactful, allowing his personality to take center stage.”

Though simplicity remained the core, Krish also experimented with more elaborate designs. “He carried heavier, detailed outfits with the same ease and grace. His composed personality balanced even the most intricate looks beautifully,” he said.

Talking about his own journey, Krish shared that his passion for fashion and visual storytelling led him to pursue a master’s degree in fashion in Dubai. “It gave me a strong foundation in design, styling, and global fashion sensibilities. I then spent nearly 12 years there as a fashion buyer and stylist, working with international brands and gaining experience across diverse markets.”

In 2016, Krish moved to Mumbai to focus fully on costume design and celebrity styling. “Working in films, web series, advertisements, and events helped me refine my approach, where fashion goes hand in hand with character, narrative, and authenticity,” he said.

Krish has worked with global brands like Desigual, Parfois, Women’secret, Vincci, Tari, Iconic, and Scotch & Soda, and has styled celebrities including Manoj Bajpayee. “My work spans projects such as The Family Man, Silence, Gulmohar, and several feature films, web series, and shows,” he added.

Concluding, he said, “My client base continues to grow across cinema, OTT, and advertising, where I blend global fashion experience with strong Indian storytelling.”
