It was a moment of immense pride when Mumbai’s Virja Shah was crowned Mrs. Intercontinental Tourism Ambassador 2026 at the prestigious pageant held in Myanmar, this month. Representing India’s rich heritage, Virja Shah won the award for Best National Costume 2026 for her divine Radha Krishna (Ardhanari) ensemble – a true blend of grace, culture and glory!
That’s not all – for the Talent Round, Virja delivered a captivating performance on a mythological song – ‘Hai katha sangram ki’ from the Mahabharata, beautifully reflecting Indian heritage and spirituality. “Inspite of the language barrier, the international audience had goosebumps – proof that culture and emotion need no translation”, smiles Virja.
Virja was lauded not just for her stage performances, but also for her stunning photoshoot look, poised interview ensemble and stylish rehearsal attire. Her elegance was noticed at every step.
From winning prestigious titles - DIVA Pageants Mrs Maharashtra 2025 2nd Runner Up title, Mrs FITNESS Gold 2025 and Mrs Best Dress Gold 2025 titles at the DIVA Pageants Mrs India – Empress of the Nation 2025, held last year, she indeed has come a long way, bagging an international crown! “It’s all thanks to Karl and Anjana Mascarenhas, Founders, DIVA Pageants - our brilliant mentors - their grooming and belief in me, transformed me from the shy participant into a star”, she beams. “And of course, the excellent training imparted by Cicilia Sanyal”, she adds.
Beyond the international stage, India also won hearts by showering beautiful cultural gifts to Mrs Borneo and Mrs Pakistan, who proudly flaunted it.
Winning the crown is just the beginning – Virja aims to inspire every woman who carries the burden of society and responsibilities, and often forgets her own dreams!
