The film Lifeline, which showcases the ideological clash between modern-thinking doctors and deeply rooted traditional believers, is set to hit theaters on August 2. The teaser had already heightened the audience’s anticipation to witness the compelling interplay between Ashok Saraf and Madhav Abhyankar. Now, the film’s trailer has been released. The trailer launch event saw the presence of Ashok Saraf, Madhav Abhyankar, Bharat Dabolkar, Hemangi Kavi, Jaywant Wadkar, Sharmila Shinde, Sushrut Mankani, and Avadhoot Gupte.
The trailer highlights the belief that if knowledge and science come together, many lives can be saved, according to the doctor. On the other hand, the funeral director believes that two people are crucial in a person’s life: one is the divine who sends them down, and the other is the funeral director who sends them back. Watching who wins this battle will be intriguing. Meanwhile, the film reminds us that when one journey of life ends, another begins.
Presented by Crescendo Entertainment, Lifeline is directed by Sahil Shirwaikar, with the story, screenplay, and dialogues by Rajesh Shirvaikar. The film’s music is composed by Ashok Patki, and the songs are sung by Avadhoot Gupte and Madhuri Karmarkar. The producers are Lalji Joshi, Kavita Shirwaikar, Ami Bhuta, Milind Prabhudesai, Uday Pandit, Sanchita Shirwaikar, Sandhya Kulkarni, Shilpa Mudbidri, and Crescendo Entertainment.
Director Sahil Shirwaikar says, “This is my debut film as a director, and having veteran actors like Ashok Saraf and Madhav Abhyankar in my first film is a huge deal for me. When it came to casting, these two names were the first that came to mind. I visited Ashok Saraf’s house to meet him. He had several scripts in front of him and asked me why he should agree to my film. I read him my script and explained my emotions behind it. His agreement was a great joy for me. All the actors in the film are excellent, each with a unique identity in the industry. The film revolves around the conflict between modern science and old traditions. The resolution of this conflict will be revealed to the audience when they watch the film. ‘Lifeline’ also aims to spread social awareness. I am confident that my effort will be appreciated by the audience.”
Ashok Saraf adds, “When Sahil narrated the film to me and I read the script, my first question to him was who would portray the funeral director. When he mentioned Madhav Abhyankar, I understood his insight. I liked the subject. This film will make everyone think. A young director making such a film is certainly praiseworthy.”
