Kakuda Movie Review: A Spooky Laugh Riot by Aditya Sarpotdar on ZEE5 Global

Director Aditya Sarpotdar works his magic once again with Kakuda, now streaming on ZEE5 Global, the world’s largest platform for South Asian content. This Hindi horror-comedy is a delightful mix of scares and laughs, making it an ideal family watch. The casting is impeccable, with each actor delivering effortlessly funny and engaging performances.

Riteish Deshmukh shines as Victor, a quirky ghost hunter determined to uncover the eerie secrets of the village of Ratodi. His comedic timing and undeniable charisma breathe life into his character. Riteish is a natural when is comes to comedy, so it’s entertaining to combine horror and comedy.

Sonakshi Sinha is a revelation in her role, leaving us to ponder why she isn’t featured more prominently in films. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali showcased her talent in Heeramandi, it’s evident she has so much more to offer, and we hope more filmmakers take note.

The real surprise, however, is Saqib Saleem, whose effortless humor and strong screen presence stand out even among seasoned actors like Riteish and Sonakshi. Aditya Sarpotdar wisely allows him the space to shine, revealing his untapped potential.

Aditya Sarpotdar’s ability to balance horror with comedy is no small feat, yet he accomplishes it with grace and skill. His filmography is a speaks of to his talent, and Kakuda is another feather in his cap.

The film’s strength lies in its crisp, straightforward storytelling. There are no unnecessary song-and-dance routines or item numbers, ensuring the plot remains tight and engaging. At no point does the film feel like it’s losing its way or dragging.

With its perfect blend of humor and horror, stellar performances, and sharp direction, Kakuda is a must-watch.
