Kannada ZEE5 has announced its upcoming fantasy‑comedy thriller, ‘JERAX’, produced by Kalenahalli Adaviswamy Dhananjaya, widely known as Daali, under his banner Daali Pictures. The series marks a major milestone for the acclaimed actor‑turned‑producer as he steps into the OTT space with a project that blends quirky imagination with a strong Kannada cultural identity.
Helmed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, whose debut film Blink drew industry attention for its inventive storytelling and Kannada‑rooted emotion, JERAX also marks his OTT debut as both writer and director. Srinidhi’s dark humour, raw tonality and suspense‑layered treatment shape the narrative into a distinct new‑age Kannada original.
This announcement also reinforces Kannada Zee5’s growing commitment to championing hyper‑local narratives and creators who bring cultural authenticity to the forefront. Over the past year, the platform has steadily built a slate that highlights stories shaped directly from Karnataka’s towns, dialects and creative communities, allowing new‑age filmmakers to explore genres and formats that go beyond mainstream structures.
Producer, Daali Dhananjaya shares, “OTT is a space I have been wanting to explore for a while, but it had to be with the right story and the right partner. What drew me to ZEE5 was their clear intention to back content that feels proudly local, not diluted. As someone who has always believed in giving new filmmakers a platform, JERAX felt like the perfect opportunity.
