Kanwar Dhillon, who is currently the lead in Udne Ki Aasha, doesn’t always need to travel far to relax. For him, finding peace often means going back to familiar places and making the most of last-minute plans with friends.
Kanwar says the best part about living in a busy city is learning how to take a break from it. Even if he’s still in Mumbai, some places make him feel like he’s left all the noise behind. For him, these quick trips aren’t about fancy hotels or big plans—they’re about being close to nature, hitting the open road, and enjoying some quiet time.
Lonavala, Khandala, and Karjat are some of Kanwar’s go-to spots for a weekend break. He likes to just get on his bike and ride out with friends, without making too many plans. They pick a place, explore, relax, and come back feeling recharged. Alibaug is another favourite, thanks to its quiet beaches and peaceful vibe.
Kanwar loves biking, and for him, the ride is just as important as where he’s going. He usually heads out with a small group of close friends, choosing quiet, offbeat places instead of busy tourist spots. He says those hidden spots, where it’s just them and nature, are his favourite kind of escape.
But if there’s one place that means the most to Kanwar, it’s Madh Island. He’s been going there since he was a kid growing up in Malad, and it’s always been close by. Madh Island has become a special, familiar spot that he keeps coming back to.
He fondly recalls his early days: “We used to cycle all the way there, watch sunsets, eat ice golas, and just sit by the beach. It was simple, but it meant everything.” Over the years, those cycling trips evolved into long motorcycle rides, but the essence remained unchanged.
Kanwar also mentions a quiet dead-end and a spot called Kileshwar on the island, known for its raw, untouched charm. “We’d just sit there, watch fishermen at work, and soak in the stillness. It’s peaceful in a way not many places are.”
For Kanwar, these trips aren’t just about taking a break. They help him feel refreshed and ready to take on everything that comes with living in the city.
