Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every July 26 in India, to observe India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War for ousting Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999. On its silver jubilee this year, producer Chitra Vakil Sharma has a special message for the bravehearts. Known for her successful production ventures like Tandoor, Raktanchal, Bhram, and most recently Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, says that their service is selfless and courageous.
She writes, “Dear Bravehearts, As we commemorate 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, we honor your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to our nation. Your selfless service is the bedrock of our country’s safety and prosperity. Just as your predecessors fought valiantly to reclaim our territory in Kargil, you continue to defend our borders with unyielding spirit and patriotism. Your commitment to protecting our nation and its people is a beacon of hope and inspiration to us all.” She adds, “We acknowledge the challenges you face, the time spent away from loved ones, and the sacrifices made to ensure our freedom. Your bravery is a testament to the highest traditions of the Indian Armed Forces. As you stand watch, we stand with you in gratitude and admiration. May your service be a source of pride, and may your sacrifices never go unnoticed. We celebrate you, our heroes, every day, and especially on this milestone anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
