Sony MAX is all set to have the World TV Release of the highly anticipated film, ‘Khel Khel Mein’, on November 30, 2024, at 8pm. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, this suspenseful drama takes a thrilling turn as a seemingly innocent game of secrets unfolds. The film revolves around a group of friends who engage in an interesting game where details of any call or message received on their mobile phones will have to be shared with the entire group. What starts as fun soon becomes a revelation of hidden truths.
Ahead of the release of the movie on the channel, Director Mudassar Aziz shares his insights into the film’s adaptation and inspiration.
Mudassar Aziz comments, “The story is adapted from an Italian film, but we had to localise it to resonate with Indian audiences. While the original plot was intriguing, it was challenging to adapt it to our cultural context.” While working on the movie script, Aziz was finding it difficult to weave the story to resonate withthe Indian viewers. However, the hotel where he was staying while writing the story was hosting a wedding event. This was the missing key to piecing the story together.
He shares, “I went down to have a stroll and overheard a few people talking. It’s when I realised that marriage venues are the breeding ground for get-togethers and gossips. This real-life scenario provided the perfect backdrop for our film.”
‘Khel Khel Mein’ takes viewers through a wide range of emotions and has a lot of scenes which strike a chord with them. However, highlighting his favourite sequence, Aziz shares, “Tapsee Pannu’s confession about her decision to seek a sperm donor is a heart-wrenching moment.” He further adds, “Indian women often make significant sacrifices for their families, silently. My mother was one such woman. It was important for me to capture this sentiment in the film, and Tapsee Pannu’s performance brought it to life. The beautiful portrayal of this scene balancing its emotional intensity makes it my favourite scene."
Khel Khel Mein stars Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal in pivotal roles.
