Coinciding with Paris Fashion Week, Lionsgate brings the visual world of The Hunger Games to Paris with Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style and Power of Panem, a fashion-led exhibition celebrating the costumes, silhouettes and sartorial codes that have made the franchise’s universe instantly recognizable - while looking ahead to its newest film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, opening in theaters worldwide this November.
Presented in the gardens of the Musée Rodin, the exhibition brings together key archival looks from across The Hunger Games franchise as well as costumes from the new film and explores the role fashion has always played in Panem: from the heightened glamour and calculated excess of the Capitol to the ceremonial dressing surrounding the Games. Costume is never simply decoration in this world; it defines character, creates aspiration and reveals the systems of power at work beneath the spectacle.
That visual language takes on particular resonance with The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, the upcoming new installment set at a pivotal moment in Panem’s history. The film returns audiences to the 50th Hunger Games - an era in which the pageantry, control and propaganda of the Capitol are at their most refined, even as the first sparks of the revolution audiences know from the original films begin to take hold.
Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style and Power of Panem will be unveiled on Tuesday, October 6, with an intimate opening activation featuring special appearances by Joseph Zada and McKenna Grace. The exhibition will then open to the public for one day only on Wednesday, October 7, from 10am to 6:30pm.
The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the artistry behind The Hunger Games films up close, revisit the franchise’s enduring visual legacy, and step into the world that sets the stage for the next chapter of its story.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping opens in France on November 18 and worldwide on November 20.
