Lokit Phulwani, who is currently seen in Prateek Sharma’s Studio LSD’s Rabb Se Hai Dua, mentioned that working in a daily soap makes an actor a household name. He said, “One of the best parts about working on television is the opportunity to reach a wide and diverse audience. Television has the power to connect people from different backgrounds and cultures, sparking conversations and creating shared experiences.”
“Additionally, the serialized nature of television allows for in-depth character development and storytelling over time, providing actors with the chance to delve deeply into their roles and explore complex narratives. The collaborative nature of television production, working closely with a team of talented professionals, is also incredibly rewarding,” he added.
But what about some actors not acknowledging the “TV actor” label? “Labels can sometimes carry connotations or limitations that individuals may wish to avoid, especially if they feel they don’t fully encompass their abilities or aspirations. While some actors may feel uncomfortable with being exclusively labeled as ‘TV actors’, others may embrace it as a badge of honor, recognizing the significant impact and reach of television in the entertainment industry,” he said.
“Ultimately, it’s a personal preference, and each actor may have their own reasons for embracing or rejecting certain labels. What matters most is the quality of their work and their ability to showcase
their talent across various platforms,” he added.
He also pointed out that other than the glitz and glamour associated with the industry, daily soap also means constant work and constant income, along with some struggles and sacrifices.
“It’s true that daily soaps offer actors a steady stream of work and income, which is undoubtedly appealing. However, the format also comes with its own set of challenges and sacrifices, including long hours, tight schedules, and limited personal time,” he said.
“Despite the hardships, many actors are drawn to the dynamic and fast-paced nature of daily soaps, as well as the opportunity to showcase their talent to a wide audience on a regular basis. While they may express frustrations at times, the desire to be part of such projects often stems from a passion for their craft and the thrill of being involved in something that resonates with viewers on a daily basis.”
