“As a heartfelt tribute, the festival is dedicated to Mr. Ratan Tata’s inspiring life and philosophy. On December 28, marking his birth anniversary, we will celebrate his birthday with a special cake-cutting ceremony, followed by the closing ceremony of Natya Ratan 2025,” said Abhishek Narayan.
Natya Ratan has been envisioned as an annual theatre festival, with the objective of offering a sustained cultural homage to Mr. Ratan Tata through the medium of Indian theatre.
This four-day curated theatre festival will showcase 12 selected plays in Hindi, Marathi, and English. The programming spans classical, contemporary, regional, and experimental theatre forms. Selected through a rigorous national and international curation process, the performances reflect the richness, diversity, and evolving narratives of Indian and global theatre traditions.
Founder by Abhishek Narayan, Natya Ratan is supported by Astitva and MumbaiTheatreGuide.com. The festival seeks to create a vibrant confluence of theatre lovers, artists, thinkers, and cultural patrons, fostering meaningful dialogue and celebrating socially relevant, thought-provoking, and impactful theatre.
