Actor Manish Khanna is very excited about the web series Dons and Darlings, produced by ALTT. The actor is confident that the audience will love the series, which is all set to start streaming at the end of December.
“Dons and Darlings has a very unique and international feel to it, which I believe will intrigue the audience. The name itself sets the tone for a gripping and glamorous storyline,” he says .
He adds, “When I heard the name, I expected a high-stakes narrative with power struggles, crime, and glamour. The name evokes a world where charm meets danger, and that’s exactly what the series delivers.”
The show has his glam content high, he says, adding, “Glamorous characters, when combined with a strong plot, have a way of drawing the audience in. It adds a layer of allure to the gritty underworld that the series explores,” he says.
Talking about his character, he says, “I play Balraj, a drug lord and gangster who is also an MLA contesting in elections. The character is multi-layered, powerful, and intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed stepping into his shoes and bringing his story to life. The connection lies in understanding his motivations and complexities, which made the role even more exciting.”
He adds, “Balraj’s ambition and his constant battle between his public persona and private dealings make him relatable. Everyone has dualities in their lives, and I think the audience will resonate with that aspect of his character.”
