For actor Manjari Mishra, who was seen in Gujarati film Fuleku, Bollywood film Rocket Gang, and the short film Main Tumhara, fashion is how one carries themselves. She confessed that she loves to dress-up and doesn’t need a reason for it.
“Fashion is about how you carry yourself, what kind of makeup you choose, the type of clothes and shoes you wear, the jewelry you wear. Fashion or style is something that people consciously or unconsciously notice first. By looking at your fashion sense, people judge how you might be, what your personality is like,” she said.
But even though she is in the glamour business, she never feels the pressure to look good at all times. She said it’s because she enjoys the whole process a lot.
“I have never been under such pressure as an actor, that I have to dress in this way and I have to get ready in that way, or I have to look that way. I have never felt this kind of pressure, and I think the reason is that I really enjoy dressing up, putting on makeup. I love dressing up every day. And if someone tells me not to put on makeup today or not to get ready, I might feel a little low. I feel very good going out, all ready and prepared,” she said.
However, she is not one to follow fashion trends blindly. She said, “If I feel that this fashion or style will suit me or will look good on me, then I wear it, buy it, I shop for those things, and then I use them for my work, for my meetings, and for my shoots.”
Manjari likes bright colors as well as white, pastels, light blue, and yellow, but her wardrobe mostly has black and red clothes, and said, “I don’t know how it happens, I like something else, but whenever I go shopping, I always end up picking black and red clothes. I don’t know how this happens.”
Manjari loves wearing Indian clothes and feels super comfortable in them. She added, “Even linen fabrics are very comfortable, you can wear them in different styles. I think in summer, wearing linen or cotton fabrics is not only comfortable but also breathable. You can style it in a very nice way, and it looks beautiful.“
So is there anyone you look up to in terms of fashion? “I love Deepika Padukone very much. I love the way she carries herself, the way she dresses up, her makeup, and everything. I try so hard to apply makeup like her, and wear clothes like hers. Give her a saree, or gown, or loose pants and loose shirt, she carries them with such ease. I consider her my inspiration. I try very hard to learn from her and be like her,” she concluded.”
