Marathi Zee 5 brings Afratafri, a family comedy-drama about three brothers whose father’s death sets off an unusual chain of events. With an insurance payout in the picture, their individual financial needs and ambitions lead to a series of comic situations, unexpected twists and family complications. Directed by Milind Zumber Kavde, the film premieres on 13th November 2026 on Marathi Zee 5.
Presented by Skyline Cinematic and YEN Movie Studios, in association with Out Of The Box Films, the film features an ensemble cast comprising Mohan Agashe, Sanjay Narvekar, Shashank Shende, Onkar Bhojane, Asawari Joshi, Prajakta Hanamghar, Kiran Mane, Neha Khan and Hemant Patil, among others.
Veteran actor Mohan Agashe said, “Afratafri is an entertaining story that brings out the unpredictable side of human behaviour through humour and drama. The film explores how the need for money can lead people into complicated situations, with each character adding to the chaos in their own way. Being part of a film with such a talented ensemble was a wonderful experience. I am glad that the film is reaching audiences through Marathi Zee 5, giving viewers an opportunity to enjoy this story of humour, unexpected situations and family madness.”
Actor Shashank Shende said, “Afratafri has been a truly enjoyable experience for me, both as an actor and as part of such a wonderful ensemble cast. The film revolves around an interesting and relatable premise, where money brings out unexpected reactions and creates situations that are both hilarious and chaotic. Playing my character gave me the opportunity to explore a different side of comedy, and working alongside such talented actors made the entire journey even more memorable. I hope audiences enjoy the madness, humour and the underlying emotions that make Afratafri special.”
Actor Sanjay Narvekar said, “The beauty of a comedy like Afratafri lies in how one situation leads to another, with the characters constantly finding themselves in bigger trouble than they anticipated. The film has some wonderfully amusing situations, and the fun really comes from how each character reacts to the madness unfolding around them. Comedy also depends greatly on timing and the chemistry between actors, and we had a great team that made the experience enjoyable. I hope audiences have as much fun watching the film as we had making it.”
Actor Omkar Bhojane said, “As an actor, I enjoy stories that give you the opportunity to explore different shades of a character, and Afratafri offered plenty of that. The screenplay brings together several interesting characters whose choices and individual motivations keep the story moving in unexpected directions. What makes the experience particularly engaging is the interplay between the characters and how their decisions influence what happens next. I had a wonderful time being part of this film and collaborating with such an experienced cast. I am excited for audiences to watch it on Marathi Zee 5.”
Director Milind Zumber Kavde said, “With Afratafri, I wanted to build a story around an unusual family situation and explore how the promise of money can alter equations between people who share the closest bonds. The father’s death and the insurance payout become the starting point for a series of events that bring out the conflicting interests, insecurities and motivations of the three brothers. Our approach was to let the humour emerge from the situations and characters rather than force it, while retaining the emotional undercurrent of a family drama. Bringing this story together with such a talented cast has been a rewarding experience, and I am looking forward to its premiere on Marathi Zee 5.”
