Krishika Pilani is a bright and cheerful 10-year-old from Kolhapur, India. She loves reading, writing stories, and spending time with animals — especially horses!
Krishika studies in Grade 4 at Vibgyor High School and is always full of ideas. She says, “I’ve always loved writing short stories. So when there was a writing competition, I thought – why not try writing a whole book?”
That’s how she wrote her first book, Cordelia – A Tale of Grace and Grit. The story is about a brave and curious girl who loves animals, just like Krishika. “I really love horse riding, and that helped me imagine Cordelia’s world,” she shares. Krishika is an accomplished horse rider, having trained at Dakshin Valley, Kolhapur, since the age of 7.
Krishika is a big bookworm! Her favourite authors are Enid Blyton, Caroline Keene, Lauren Child, JK Rowling, and Tui T Sutherland.
She says, “I can’t pick just one favourite book! I love Ruby Redfort, Nancy Drew, Wings of Fire, Harry Potter, and all of Enid Blyton’s books.”
When asked if she’ll write more, Krishika smiles and says, “Yes, I’m thinking of turning Cordelia into a series!”
With her love for books and animals, Krishika’s stories are full of imagination and heart. This young author is just getting started — and we can’t wait to read more from her!
