Meghna Kukreja, who plays the role of Manali Sharma in Janani - AI ki Kahani, produced by Mrinal Abhihgyan Jha Productions (MAJ), says that she the show is a good mix between technological innovations and human emotions. She says that she loves being part of it.
“From whatever I have understood about AI i.e Artificial Intelligence, is that it is quite literally about advanced machines being able to think on their own and react on their own. So the title Janani: AI ki Kahani makes sense in that manner considering the fact that we are adding a touch of human emotions with the way the show is written and directed as well as acted out,” she says.
She adds, “With so many leading tech companies now moving towards machine learning and AI, in my opinion, a lot of people would be interested in watching the show, especially the younger audience. Through our show, they might be enlightened about these concepts. Since we are familiar with a lot of movies being released on these concepts, in my opinion Indian television needed a twist in the traditional concepts which our show is going to bring in an enormous manner.”
Talking about her character, she says, “If I had to describe my character or talk about her, I’d say she is both batameez and audacious and if there were a soft side to her, I think you’ll mostly only get to see it around Ritik. Also, I think I took on this show because I have complete faith in Mrinal Ma’am and sir’s vision.”
However, she cannot relate much to her role. “There is zero relatability factor between me and my character and that’s where all the acting came in. I feel I struggled the most with this because I knew nothing about this sort of personality,” she says.
The AI wave is here to stay and 2024 is the year of AI, she says, adding, “In fact, not only 2024, but the development of AI was started some time ago. I’m sure we all are familiar with the highly intelligent robot being developed by Saudi which was also granted the citizenship ‘Sophie’. So to speak in term of futuristic aspect of technology AI and ML i.e Machine learning, is going to help human civilization solve a lot of problems and going to help us in betterment of the society.”
Meanwhile, working with Abhigyan and Mrinal Jha is a treat, she says. “This is my second show with them after Pishachini, I have had a blast being directed by Abhigyan sir. He gave me complete freedom to explore my character, play with my lines, and improvise, also the writer in him really helped with the improvisation. About Mrinal ma’am, I’m in awe of her work. In fact, after watching the first episode itself, my dad came up to me and said I really like the show you’re in,” she says.
