While many people may feel that the number of opportunities in showbiz has greatly multiplied, so has the number of people trying to get roles, says actor Mitali Pandey. The actor, who plays the role of Pranali Sharma, Polly, in Mrinal Abhigyan Jha Productions’ Janani AI Ki Kahani on Dangal TV.
“It’s an irony, to be honest. But the show has to go on, and people have to fight for the right opportunities, no matter how hard it gets,” she says.
Talking about her role, she says, “I was a bit nervous because Polly is the only hilarious angle to a serious subject in the story. I thought this was going to be challenging since it isn’t easy to make people laugh in a drama.”
She adds, “The concept is certainly not like the regular drama shown on TV. We are all grateful to be a part of it. A lot of apps that make our lives easier are AI-generated these days, from grocery shopping to market investments. AI is everywhere.”
Meanwhile, she adds that shooting the show has been a lot of fun. “They are not actors, but angels. It’s difficult to choose just one person and the crew on our set is incredibly sweet, warm, and loving. There was a sequence where the Sharma family’s clones appeared in the show. It took a lifetime to shoot that sequence because the entire family had to play double roles. The actors were exhausted but enjoyed the shoot, and the bond between us became even stronger after that,” she says.
