The North American Film Association (NAFA), a non-profit organization founded on the vision of Abhijit Gholap—producer of National Award-winning films Deool and Bharatiya—has taken a bold and far-sighted step at the beginning of the new year. Built entirely on the dedication, passion, and artistic commitment of volunteers, without any profit motive, NAFA now brings its exclusive Marathi OTT platform, NAFA Stream, to Marathi audiences across North America.
Recently launched, NAFA Stream is now available to viewers in the United States and Canada across web, Roku, iOS, and Android platforms. The platform’s core objective is to bring together a curated and high-quality collection of Marathi films, short films, documentaries, web series, and masterclasses under one roof. For Marathi audiences in North America and Canada, NAFA Stream is set to become a dedicated and trusted destination for Marathi entertainment.
NAFA Stream will feature NAFA Masterclasses, cult classics, and powerful new Marathi films. Audiences will also get the opportunity to watch an exclusive World Digital Premiere during the first week of every month. National Award-winning films such as Deool, Kaasav, and Dithi, along with Dhusar, Anahat, Partu, Ek Nirnay, Chhabila, the controversial Manache Shlok (Tu Bol Na), and the recently superhit Kurla to Vengurla, will have their world premieres on the platform—making it a major attraction for Marathi cinema lovers.
In a conscious and thoughtful move, NAFA has also decided to prominently feature high-quality Marathi documentaries on NAFA Stream. These include the National Award-winning documentary Bolpatacha Mooknayak, based on the life of Vishnupant Damle of the Prabhat Film Company, as well as Disha Swarajyachi, which explores participatory democracy as practiced by an Adivasi village in the Gadchiroli district.

Additionally, under the NAFA Creators initiative, NAFA Stream will showcase short films created by Marathi artists based in the United States that have been recognized at various international film festivals. These include Dear Pra, Pairav, Nirmalya, and Yogayog. Multiple annual subscription options are available for NAFA Stream, with a special 20% discount offered to all NAFA members.
Speaking about NAFA Stream, Founder President Abhijit Gholap said, “Marathi cinema is not merely entertainment—it is the voice of our culture, our thoughts, and our sensitivities. Through NAFA Stream, our sincere effort is to take this voice to a global audience, provide filmmakers with a dignified platform, and offer viewers quality content at the click of a button.”
Project Lead Archana Saraf added, “Our aim was to create a seamless, user-friendly platform where Marathi audiences in North America can enjoy a wide range of content—from nostalgic classics to contemporary works—through a single app. By thoughtfully bringing together technology, content, and artists, we are delighted to have built a platform that truly serves the Marathi community.”
Built on the three pillars of quality content, respect for artists, and the trust of audiences, NAFA Stream promises to offer new direction, renewed strength, and a broader international horizon for Marathi cinema. Through NAFA Stream, Marathi films are now poised to truly shine on the global screen.
