During school days, everyone eagerly anticipated summer holidays. Some yearned to visit their village, while others longed to wander in cooler hill stations with their parents. Memories of eating mangoes in the village, playing with friends without worrying about time, all transform into cherished memories as one grows older. One such fond memory, was shared by Vallari Viraj aka Leela from Navari Mile Hitlerla.
She said, “During school days, in summer vacation, I wanted to wake up early in the morning to play, ride a bicycle. My mother would take me and my brother to Ranicha Bagh and National Park. During summer holidays, we also visited our grandmother’s place and ate gola. Remembering all these things now brings back fond memories of childhood. Nowadays, Mumbai has become so hot that I have to take care of myself. So, at night, I soak my ‘sabja’ in water or milk, and drink it throughout the da. I also have lemonade, and wear a scarf constantly when going out. I use sunscreen a lot because I am an actor, so I have to take care of my skin. Apart from this, I wear loose cotton clothes to avoid the heat."
