Being a daily soap actor is no easy feat, says actor Nitin Guleria, who plays the role of Ritik Parmar in Mrinal and Abhigyan Jha Productions’ Janani - AI ki Kahani. The actor adds that he makes sure to take out as much time as he can for himself.
“Balancing personal time with a hectic soap schedule requires prioritization and effective time management. It’s crucial to carve out moments for self-care and relaxation amidst the busy filming routine,” he says, adding, “Night shoots can be challenging, but they’re often necessary in the TV industry. Prioritizing rest during non-working hours, maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, and implementing self-care practices can help mitigate any negative effects on mental health.”
He adds, “Physical exhaustion is a reality in daily soap production, especially during the summer months. Staying hydrated, eating nutritious meals, getting regular exercise, and sufficient rest are essential for sustaining energy levels and overall well-being.”
Daily soaps mean constant work and constant income, he says, adding, “The allure of daily soaps lies in their consistent work and income opportunities, despite the demanding schedules and challenges they pose. Many actors appreciate the stability and exposure that come with being part of such projects, despite the hardships.”
He adds, “However, some actors may resent being solely associated with television roles due to perceptions about the medium’s prestige or artistic merit. However, it’s essential to recognize the value and impact of television as a platform for storytelling and career opportunities.”
Ask him why he loves working on TV, and he says, “The best part of working in television is the ability to reach a broad audience and connect with viewers on a regular basis. It offers a platform to showcase talent, explore diverse characters, and contribute to meaningful narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide.”
