After taking time away from the daily grind of television, actor Pallavi Purohit is back on screens with Do Duniya Ek Dil, and she’s embracing the journey with renewed enthusiasm. Known for her memorable performances in shows like Madhubala and Balika Vadhu, Pallavi says her latest role offers something refreshingly different from what she has done before.
Speaking about the show, Pallavi shared that she was drawn to both the story and the people behind it. “This character is quite different from my previous roles. She’s more submissive, and that’s what makes her interesting. I’m excited to see how she evolves as the story progresses,” she said.
She believes television storytelling still has immense untapped potential. While acknowledging the technical advancements in the industry, she feels content can become more progressive. “Our culture is so rich and diverse, yet we often return to the same family conflicts. Audiences today are smart. Every episode should leave them with something meaningful to think about,” she explained.
Despite working alongside an ensemble cast, Pallavi feels that the success of a show ultimately depends on its story. “Having known faces is definitely an advantage, but what really matters is the subject. If the story is strong and the performances are honest, audiences will connect with it,” she said.
Off-screen, the atmosphere on the set is just as lively. Pallavi laughingly revealed that while everyone enjoys joking around, she somehow ends up getting caught every time. “Everyone has fun, but I’m always the one who gets scolded,” she joked.
She also spoke warmly about her co-stars, praising their talent and camaraderie. She especially enjoys the creative conversations and friendships that have developed since the show’s launch.
Away from acting, Pallavi spent her break pursuing personal passions, including Bharatanatyam, music, travel, and spending time with family. She is currently working towards completing her Bharatanatyam diploma and considers the period one of learning rather than a break.
Describing Do Duniya Ek Dil, Pallavi calls it a unique concept that brings together two contrasting worlds. “It’s a breath of fresh air. The story explores the clash between a digital-first generation and people who prefer a simpler way of life. There are many layers to the narrative, and audiences will discover them as the story unfolds.”
