Sony MAX, the home of blockbusters and a go-to destination for cinema fans, is set to bring the much-awaited World Television Premiere of Peddi on October 24, at 8pm.
Headlined by Ram Charan, alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi is a sports-action drama that takes the energy of the playing field and turns it into a larger battle for pride, identity and dignity. With its scale, emotion and high-octane action, Peddi promises the kind of larger-than-life cinematic experience that audiences have come to associate with Sony MAX.
Set in 1990 against the backdrop of a remote village in Andhra Pradesh, the film follows Peddi (Ram Charan), a gifted sportsman whose natural talent and fierce passion for the game make him a local hero. But when circumstances threaten his people and their way of life, the game begins to mean much more. What starts on the playing field soon becomes a fight for his community and everything it stands for. Blending sport, action and emotion, Peddi brings together the scale of a mass entertainer with the story of a man who refuses to back down.
The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu, with music composed by A.R. Rahman.
Devika Prabhu, Business Head, Hindi Movies, “Peddi has everything audiences look for in a big television premier, an iconic star, spectacular action, powerful emotion and a story worth rooting for. At its heart is Peddi, the ‘har khel ka superstar’, whose talent on the field is matched by his determination to stand up for his community. Ram Charan brings tremendous force and heart to this journey, making Peddi exactly the kind of larger-than-life entertainer we are delighted to bring to audiences on Sony MAX.”
Ram Charan, Lead Actor, “Anybody says yes to a film because of the script, and Peddi had a fantastic one. When I first heard it at home, I had a reaction unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I immediately hugged my director, Buchi Babu and even Sukumar sir was surprised. I feel very fortunate to be part of Peddi. As an actor, I’ve always wanted to be associated with films that inspire people across generations and when I heard the script I felt Peddi was one such film.”
