Planet Marathi, the first Marathi OTT platform to receive global recognition, has consistently delivered captivating content to Marathi viewers worldwide. The platform has showcased numerous excellent films, web films, web series, and short films. Many of their films have received accolades at film festivals and national awards. Now, Planet Marathi is expanding once again, and as part of this expansion, Abhijit Panse has been appointed to the Director‘S Content Board.
Abhijit Panse, known for his writing and direction in several previous films, has made waves in the industry with his web series Ranbazar. Panse’s ability to tackle complex, fiery, and sensitive topics distinguishes him. Abhijit Panse’s Ravan Future Productions and Shrirang Godbole’s Indian Magic Eye have joined hands to bring some exciting and innovative content for Planet Marathi viewers. They have announced the upcoming web series “Ranbazar 2” and a new web series inspired by Jaywant Dalvi’s play “Purush,” which audiences can look forward to soon.
Speaking about this appointment, Abhijit Panse said, “Just as in the Hindi and South Indian industries, where magnificent works of art are created by collaborating, such collaborations are rare in the Marathi industry. Many individuals work independently. There are very few who come together to work collectively. Therefore, if we want to create magnificent works of art in Marathi, the Marathi industry needs to come together and establish an organization. That’s why I have joined hands with Indian Magic Eye. Maharashtra is home to numerous talented artists, and providing them with an excellent platform is our endeavor. Establishing the first studio in Marathi is our aim. Collaborating with Planet Marathi, which has received widespread recognition, fills us with great joy.”
Director Shrirang Godbole added, “I have been working in this field for the past thirty years. Over the years, I have witnessed many excellent works of art being created. But to showcase them nationally and globally, we often face limitations. Hence, with the collaboration of Abhijit Panse and Planet Marathi, we hope to bring Marathi art to the forefront of the world’s stage.”
Akshay Bardapurkar, the founder of Planet Marathi, expressed his confidence in Abhijit Panse’s appointment, saying, “Abhijit Panse’s appointment as Director of Content signifies his far-sightedness regarding the Marathi industry, which will undoubtedly be beneficial for Planet Marathi’s expansion. He brings with him over twenty-five years of experience in this industry and has produced five films, all of which have been honored with national awards. His expertise will be invaluable for our future endeavors. With his support, we can establish a large unit in Marathi.”
